The Whisperer was present at a social event at one of the country’s leading five-star hotels where tickets to a number of destinations were being plucked out in a raffle draw sponsored by an airline.
Guests had earlier been asked to drop their business cards into a bowl and one of the VIPs in attendance was invited to draw one out for the prize of a return ticket to an exotic location, which also happened to be the capital of the country he represents as an ambassador here in Bahrain.
Lo and behold, he plucked his own card out of the bowl … and kept the prize!
