Nakhool city, an area transformed into an activity centre at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, is offering ‘edutainment’ for children as part of the Bahrain Summer Festival. Located in Hall 1B, the activities will take place until July 15. These include a photo camp, puppet camp, LEGO computer workshops, art workshops, dance and music programmes as well as intercultural games. The heat is on! LPOD Summer Festival kicks off tomorrow and runs until July 18.

This year’s main attraction is a Dragon & Lion dance troupe straight from China. Legend has it that the dance is the symbol of power, strength and good luck, driving away evil spirits and bringing good fortune to the people.

Guests are all invited to witness the spectacle of dance and colours for free with entrance tickets. There will be three shows per day from July 6-19 .

The first LPOD Music Festival, Campus Dance Showdown and a ‘Kid’s Got Talent’ contest will be staged too and the water park will have a dedicated children’s activity area with lots of fun games, arts and crafts, mascots and magic shows.

In addition, new extended hours can now be enjoyed starting from 10am until 8pm every day except on Tuesday when the facility is closed and Thursday night 10am-5pm to give way for the popular Thursday Ladies Night between 6pm-midnight. The weekly ladies night promises DJ music, Zumba sessions, fashion shows and special competitions with airline tickets to be given away.
