Burger King, the second largest fast food burger chain in the world and home of the flame-grilled ‘Whopper’, recently opened its 10th outlet in Isa Town, continuing the brand’s expansion in Bahrain.
There will surely be some happy employees and students in the area as the popular burger joint is located in Al Andalusia near the Ministry of Labour and not far from the sites of several private schools.
The new eatery, with drive-through, can accommodate 72-seated guests. It was opened by Thierry Rousset, senior director and general manager of the regional franchise holder and watched by Burger King Bahrain’s operations manager Sushil Gavane and his team.
Mr Rousset said: “Bahrain is a key growth market for the Burger King brand in the Arabian Gulf, a region where we have managed to expand our presence significantly in recent years. The kingdom and the wider Gulf region will continue to be a focal point of our investment strategy in the Middle East.”
The first Burger King restaurant opened in Bahrain 12 years ago and has been steadily adding new venues to its portfolio. Locally the franchise comes under the Jawad Group in Bahrain.
The brand is known for its ‘have it your way’ attitude, ensuring that customers at the restaurant can have their meal choices personalised to suit their individual tastes and preferences. Its menu offers up a variety of beef and chicken burgers including chicken tenders, known in other locations as chicken nuggets, with its tangy honey Dijon mustard or barbecue sauce.
HANA International Company, a subsidiary of Olayan Financing Company, has the Burger King master franchise for the Middle East and North Africa region. It operates more than 250 restaurants around the region.
