The new 2012 SsangYong Korando and Actyon Sports models were unveiled at a ceremony at Seef Mall, writes Charlie Holding.
The launch by Motorcity, the marque’s distributor in the kingdom, was attended by brand officials, the media and mall visitors who gathered to catch a glimpse of the ceremony.
Bashar Darkazalli, Motorcity CEO, said: “We’re delighted to introduce the new Korando from SsangYong in Bahrain. It has already made its mark in other international markets and we are sure that it will be an instant hit here too.
“With Korando living up to its development motto ‘Live your life to the full with dignity’, and Motorcity offering its committed after-sales service, our customers are certain to get the best of both worlds.”
The Korando boasts a 2-litre engine with 150bhp and a manual transmission, which gives the driver the ability to enjoy the thrill of a sportier driving sensation, its makers say. The automatic transmission version will be made available by November.
The Actyon Sports, a sports-utility pick-up, is available with two variants, the 2.3-litre petrol engine, which can generate up to 150bhp, and the new 2.0-litre diesel engine with direct injection, which puts out 155bhp.
The Actyon Sports and Korando start from BD7,300 and BD7,400 respectively.
