The Malik family continued their dominance in the weekly Callaway Ramadan PowerPlay Series at the Royal Golf Club.

Navid Malik, father of nine-year-old ‘Wee Wonder’ Taimur (featured in GulfWeekly), narrowly pipped his son to first place using the PowerPlay count back system.

Talented young Taimur had to settle for the runner-up spot for the second consecutive week. Both players finished on an impressive 24 points in the 9 hole PowerPlay Stableford competition, which was held on the Club’s par 3 Wee Monty course.

The unique PowerPlay format features two flags on every green with the white flag considered the easier option while the tougher black flag pin position offers players a chance to gain double stableford points for nett birdies or better. Each competitor must attempt at least three black flags during their 9 hole round.

A Callaway golf bag is up for grabs each week for the players finishing in first and second place.

The series tees off at 7pm every Tuesday evening for the next three weeks and is open to non-members at a cost of BD8 for members’ guests or BD10 for visitors per night.
