Gulf Weekly Partnership renewed

Tamkeen has renewed its partnership with the National Society for the Support of Education and Training for the Career Expo as part of its efforts to develop the skill sets of Bahraini youth.

The society organises a career expo every year in co-operation with a number of public and private organisations.

Tamkeen is participating for the second time as a strategic partner in the expo, which will be held this year from November 6 to 8 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The two parties had their first strategic partnership in the 2010 expo.

Tamkeen’s participation in this annual event encouraged a number of companies and enterprises to participate in the expo under the Tarweej scheme – one of Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support (EDS) schemes – whereby Tamkeen supports the participation of enterprises in events by covering up to 80 per cent of the participation fees.

Tamkeen’s EDS programme includes five schemes: the Business Development Scheme (Istishara) to assist in the strategic planning and determining vision and goals of the organisation; the Technical Assistance Scheme (Techania) to provide support for the purchase of latest enterprise-related tools and equipment; the Quality Management Systems Scheme (Jawda) to assist in the design and application of world-class quality standards; the Growth Assistance Scheme (Tarweej) to support enterprises’ participation in local and international events and exhibitions; and finally the Marketing Assistance Scheme (Tasweeq) to provide support in the design and implementation of effective marketing and communications strategies.

Bahraini enterprises wishing to participate in the expo can call 17565393, or email edsa@tamkeen.bh

For more information about the expo, contact the society on 17556411 or emai infonsset2011@gmail.com. In addition, Tamkeen and the National Society for the Support of Education and Training will hold a join-orientation session on September 3 at 10.30am-1.30pm at The K Hotel in Juffair.

The organisations share information on the labour market, especially in terms of skills gap. For years the society has been offering academic and professional guidance programmes and holding workshops to train jobseekers across the kingdom.
