When the Hollywood well runs dry you can always rest assured that a rehash of an 80’s sitcom isn’t too far away.

ALF has landed his spaceship at Sony Pictures Animations who are planning a live action/CGI movie of the beloved TV show.

ALF stands for alien life form, and the 1986 sitcom centred on a friendly furry alien creature (a puppet) who crash-landed on Earth and took up with the Tanners, a suburban family.

This time around Gordon ‘ALF’ Shumway will be an animated character but Paul Fusco will still provide his signature wisecracking voice.

Jordan Kerner, who produced last year’s Smurfs movie and helped turn it into a blockbuster franchise has signed up for the project.

No release date has yet been set.
