Finding a place to relax and unwind

Located in the innermost corner of Bahrain City Centre, an individual may easily pass by the Kempinski Hotel Tea Club while shopping. Yet, as a student in desperate need of relaxation and a cup of tea, I happened to stumble upon this wonderful establishment whilst being dragged around the mall by my mother.

With over a hundred different types of teas, several exquisite delicacies to enjoy alongside your drink and an ambiance reminiscent of the Orient, the Kempinski Hotel Tea Club is the perfect location to sit back with your friends and enjoy an afternoon free from work, school and all the other obligations that plague a student in everyday life.

Although the prices may exceed that of most local teenagers’ pockets, as an occasional treat or by invitation, it provides the perfect opportunity to read a book or discuss a business transaction with a work colleague.

This is a wonderful aspect of life in Bahrain that I find to be lacking in other countries – the consistent and innovative introduction of different kinds of cafés and restaurants that serve to shake up the local atmosphere.

If you were to walk through a shopping mall in Poland, or down a crowded street, you would be hard-pressed to find a unique or interesting café to just enjoy an hour of your time; here in Bahrain, a trip down to Adliya or a visit to one of the many shopping malls really reveals the diversity of local entrepreneurship, with the Kempinski Hotel Tea Club being one of the many examples.
