Former Friends star Matthew Perry has reached out to football star David Beckham to book a role on the new NBC TV series Go On.

The 43-year-old lead actor of the new series reportedly set his eyes on Beckham and has reached out to the British football ace for a cameo on the show.

The show centres on Ryan King played by Perry, who is a sports-talk radio host. He recently lost his wife in a car accident and after taking some time off, he’s ready to get back to work, but his boss insists he needs to seek counselling.

Beckham, 37, will join other athletes, Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh, Terrell Owens, Jeremy Roenick and Bob Costas, who were earlier booked to guest star on the comedy created by Scott Silveri.

Perry recently went on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and shared the information about Beckham’s appearance to the viewers. He said: “He showed up at my house … I shamelessly asked him to be on the show, and he said yes!”
