THE eighth annual Think Pink Bahrain Ladies Charity Golf Day will take place at the Royal Golf Club on October 10. A separate gents-only tournament will be hosted at the club on the evening of October 7.

The money raised from this year’s events will once again be used to help women in Bahrain who are battling breast cancer and help raise awareness of the disease.

“With the help of the local community we hope to raise at least BD10,000 this year for this vitally important cause,” said Paul Crowe, the club’s director of golf operations.

Experienced lady golfers are invited to compete in an 18-hole Texas Scramble competition on the Montgomerie championship course, teeing off with an 8am shotgun start.

Ladies with higher handicaps have the option to play a 9-hole scramble at 9.30am on the club’s Wee Monty par 3 course.

The men’s 9-hole tournament will be played under floodlights on the back 9 holes of the club’s Montgomerie championship course. The event will tee off at 6.30pm and will be played in the team stableford best 2 of 4 format.

“We have a number of excellent sponsorship opportunities available for these prestigious events,” said Think Pink Bahrain founder Jules Sprakel.
