The VIVA Junior Saturday Series order of merit title race is really heating up at the Royal Golf Club in the under-21 and under-16 age categories with only two events left to play. A good number of juniors took to the 9-hole Wee Monty par 3 course, vying for the coveted Huawei X5 android phone for category winners.

Abdulla Al Yacoob fired a one under par 26 to win the under-21 category by one shot over Fahad Al Hakam. The result sees both players now tied at the top of the under-21’s order of merit with 35 points apiece.

The under-16 category was won by Khamis Abdulla who shot 31 to beat Abdulla Essa into second place with two shots to spare. Saud Al Sharif leads the under-16’s order of merit on 35 points but any of the top six players could still potentially take the title.

In the under-12 category Taimur Malik has already won the order of merit courtesy of his unassailable lead. He shot 33 this week to win once again and bring his order of merit points total to a staggering 135. Sarah Alejandro was second after shooting 41.
