Shoe addicts from across the kingdom put their best foot forward over the weekend for a chance to win a BD100 shopping spree at the Bahrain City Centre in celebration of the month-long fun-filled ‘Fall for Fashion’ event.

The ‘Does the Shoe Fit’ stand, located in the mall’s Central Galleria, featured a plush red and silver throne and a backdrop of high-fashion shoes from different brands ready to be worn.

Over the weekend a fancy shoe label showcases its ‘shoe of the hour’ giving shoppers a chance to try on a new release.

It is a Cinderella story in more ways than one, as anyone who steps up to the throne and makes a perfect fit automatically gets entered into a BD100 raffle for a spree exclusively at the shoe store of the day.

Gulf Weekly’s Mai Al Khatib was more of a step-sister than a Cinderella as the chunky-heeled silver shoe sadly fell short of the mark. French shopper Mariam Samsoudine, 30, from Seef, however, slipped into them perfectly with her size 39 feet.

All participants also received a discount voucher and for those who missed the chance to enter can still enjoy the fairy tale experience this coming weekend between 4pm and 8pm.

The Fall for Fashion fiesta, which runs until until October 20, also has a stylish ‘It’s all about Shoes & Bags’ display at the Central Galleria on the ground floor featuring leading brands as well as a cascading shoe chandelier.

The exhibit includes the latest shoes and handbags trending this season complimented with celebrity quotes about fashion.

Another prized exhibit is a larger-than-life giant red shoe installation featuring a replica of Anas Younis’s aennis eunis designs. He recently launched his autumn look in the Middle East and a smaller version of the shoe will be available for sale at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Visitors also have the chance to win a daily prize of BD300 in gift cards if they spend a minimum of BD30 in the mall. Those who spend the minimum at any fashion store can also double their winnings and be entered into a BD3,000 spree. To enter the grand prize raffle participants need to complete a trivia card with clues found on the display.

The month of fashion events will also consist of a special school project and a ‘Kick up your heels’ walkathon in support of Think Pink Bahrain.
