The kingdom’s trendsetters stepped out in style for the unveiling of the first Steve Madden store in the kingdom at Bahrain City Centre.

The popular American brand known for its clunky heels and bold prints invited guests, members of the media and keen devotees to its ribbon cutting ceremony.

The shoe and handbag label, managed under Al Rashid Group’s fashion division, was inaugurated by Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa.

Afterwards, the store was abuzz with women admiring chic clutches, oversized bags and a variety of shoes from flats to killer heels.

Steve Madden’s autumn designs include the Intrude pump, which boasts a classic pointed toe, designed for a night out on the town or a swanky soiree. His platformed Deja Vu shoe is also designed to work with jeans or a party dress.

Women can also choose to channel their inner rock goddess with this season’s most hardcore trend, studs and leather accents. The Studly slip-on flat with all-over studs is sure to grab attention and rounding out the mix is the Bolddd platform pump with bronze studs on the tip.

For a glamorous look Aaria, a classic platform stiletto, comes with a metallic accent heel and straps. The decoratively-embellished Barbbie pump is packed with shiny gems and the Conncord shoe maxes out the glitzy trend, combining all-over embellishment with prints in a slip-on loafer.

As for men, this season they can expect grainy leathers, rich suede, distressed materials and contrast colours from boots to loafers and lace-ups to slip-ons.

Steve Madden is considered the fashion footwear mogul of the 21st century. His vision is to give young, fashion-forward men and women a unique way to express their individuality through style that has won millions of customers worldwide and propelled him to the forefront of the fashion industry.

In 1990, with just $1,100 in his bank account, he started crafting shoes from his Queens-based factory and the brand was born.

Madden’s redefined version of platform shoes was one of the most spectacular success stories of the early 1990s. Then, inspired by his favorite rock and roll stars of the 1970s, the thick chunky heel became his signature mark and a phenomenon in women’s shoes.
