THE Royal Golf Club is on course to ‘grow golf’ in Bahrain following the selection of golf course management and development specialists Troon to take it forward, its owners say. As reported in GulfWeekly, Troon has appointed experienced general manager David J Flanders to take over operations in Bahrain next month.
Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, chairman of Bahrain International Golf Course Company (BIGCC), the owning company of the Royal Golf Club, said: ìWe’ve had a fantastic beginning to our history and in order to facilitate the next part of our development, we will be looking to maximise the opportunity to grow golf amongst the people of Bahrain, as well as widen our appeal with an international audience.
ìThe calibre of courses in Troon’s existing portfolio is evidence of their proven track-record in these respects; their expertise will become invaluable moving forward.î
