Gulf Weekly Sitting pretty on national carrier

TRAVELLING to India with Gulf Air has never been so comfortable, according to travellers on the homebound journey sitting in luxury in the A321 Falcon Gold Class cabin.

The national carrier may be celebrating this week’s announcement of a royal BD185 million recapitalisation, but no-one was smiling more broadly than me as I soaked up the comfort during the three-and-a-half hour flight.

Taking to the air, the new A321 Falcon Gold class cabin has incorporated a host of modern features including horizontal super pod seats, which are fully electric with four pre-sets that can be changed with a single control, a lower back massage feature, adjustable lumbar support, articulating armrests, integral LED reading light with dimming options, elevated one-piece machine food tray with 90 degree swivel capability and a rear-mounted stowage compartment.

For the passenger’s entertainment is the full audio-video on demand (AVOD) with TV series, movies, games and even music albums to be watched on individual 15-inch touch- screens with side-mounted handset and pre-locked Bose headphones.

But those counting the fils or looking for bargain buy tickets should not despair.

Economy class facilities have also been upgraded with wider galley space, eco-friendly reclining seats incorporating headrest with adjustable ears, backrest meal table with 3-inch slide, plus a back-seat mounted adjustable footrest.

There is now also more leg-room for each seat and a rotatable centre armrest.
