THE Editor of this newspaper, Stan Szecowka, is joining the motley crew of masters at St Christopher’s School led by head of geography Barry Hobday, helping to enlighten people about men’s health issues as well as the joys of having a hairy upper lip.
During the month of November each year, the Movember charity asks men across the world to grow a moustache and our man and fellow school governor David Axtell are getting hairier each day. Stan, I’m told, hasn’t sported a moustache since 1983 when he had to grow one for a newspaper assignment to ‘become a ballet dancer for a day’.
He appeared with the Sadler’s Wells Company playing a beefy mustached palace guard and literally died on stage, a role he found quite easy. Now he’s trying to help keep himself and fellow men alive.
Mo Bros are helping to change the face of men’s health by effectively becoming walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by promoting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health such as prostate cancer.
