THE Meat Co Bahrain, the trendy Adliya steak restaurant set over three floors, has reopened its doors this month after undergoing an extensive redesign.
Every element of the new design, from the feature concrete cladding and the warmth of solid timbers to the rough stone on the kitchen and bar and the rustic metal signage, aims to reflect the restaurant’s African heritage through design, texture, artifacts and style.
The new dining space is host to an open kitchen in the centre of the restaurant, aimed at adding a sense of theatre to the dining experience.
Its designers say that the sleek elements are juxtaposed with the textured faces of the sandstone counters in the kitchen and bar bringing a ‘touch of the natural’ to an otherwise truly modern design.
With seating for over 250 people, last Wednesday evening’s regulars were joined by members of the media inspecting the new look.
The Meat Co hails from South Africa and now has five outlets across the Middle East.
The ground floor of the Bahrain restaurant is popular with both families and couples. Its first floor incorporates both a dining area and a bar with lounge and club lighting for over 18s. Walking up the steps to the rooftop allows guests to overlook the popular art and dining out area and enjoy open-air dining, as well as an atmospheric bar and lounge with resident DJ Eric spinning the decks daily.
