The festive season at St Christopher’s School started with the annual Festive Fayre at its Saar campus.

Hundreds of parents, children and members of the community last week joined in the fun which featured games, activities and stalls organised by the Friends of St Chris (FOSC).

Santa Claus visited too, arriving in a London taxi, and met children of all ages in his festive grotto.

Pupils from across the school sang and played festive music to a receptive audience of young and old, enjoying mince pies and other delicacies in the FOSC café.

“A huge thank you to all the parents, pupils and staff who helped make the day such a resounding success,” said principal Ed Goodwin.

More than BD10,000 was raised on the day towards FOSC funds. Thanks also went to the fayre’s many sponsors, especially Gulf Air, Euromotors, Chevron, Citibank, Blakes, Sofitel, The Gulf Hotel, Hotel Mercure, The Diplomat Radisson Blu, Writer Relocations, Ebrahim K Kanoo, Haribo, the Royal Golf Club and Al Zain for their donations of raffle prizes, and to other individuals and local companies for their support of the event.
