The 85th Academy Awards, billed as cinema’s biggest night, will take place on February 24 and will air live from 1am onwards for the fifth consecutive year on Fox Movies.

This year the Oscars will be presented by the creator of the critically acclaimed animated sit-com, Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane.

MacFarlane is no stranger to controversy and his presence will no doubt lure in a younger viewing audience.

Fox Movies has also obtained exclusive rights to air live coverage of the BAFTA Awards for the first time as well as the 18th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

“This year, Fox Movies provides exclusive coverage of the world’s three top film awards ceremonies, including Hollywood’s most important night of the year, the 85th Academy Awards,” said Athreyan Sundararajan, head of marketing, Fox International Channels Middle East.

“February is also Fox Movies’ ‘Oscars Month’, featuring a stellar line-up of Oscar-winning films and actors.”

The Oscars 2013: Live From The Red Carpet, will air on E! Entertainment HD the day after the Oscars at 2am with a repeat at 9pm.

The event will also feature a performance of the Skyfall theme song by Adele and the ceremony will celebrate the 50th anniversary of fictitious British secret agent James Bond with a tribute.
