Animated series The Powerpuff Girls will return to the small-screen on Cartoon Network with former Beatle Ringo Starr joining the cast.
Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, who’ve been off-air for almost a decade, will appear in a new special that will be aired this year that gives them and the rest of the residents of Townsville a ‘redesigned and re-imagined’ computer generated look.
The show introduces a new character named Fibonacci Sequins, voiced by Starr, and the original voice over artists will reprise their roles.
A spokesperson from the network, said: “The trio of pint-sized super heroines will be called upon to rescue not just the city of Townsville, but the US and the world!”
Re-run episodes of The Powerpuff Girls air everyday at 5.15am, 2.30pm and 11.50pm on Cartoon Network.
