Husband and wife, Stan and Hilde Kwik, enjoyed great success in the Royal Golf Club’s third annual PING Bahrain Seniors Open Championship, with Stan securing a win in the gent’s category with a stunning nett score of 66 and Hilde taking second place in the ladies division, beaten only by Elizabeth Gardner.

David Wales had to settle for second place on count back in the gent’s section with a nett 70 while David Rimmer took third place with the same score. Rimmer also scooped the ‘Super 60s’ title for those competitors a decade or more older than the 50-year-old entry requirement. Rimmer’s score of nett 70 included a steady run of pars on the back 9 to secure the title.

Nearest the pin side contests on holes 2 and 12 were won by Phil Sadler and Heinz Hurter respectively.

Golf sales & events manager John Wilson joked: “I think Stan was rekindling some of his youth out there with that score.

Thank you to PING for generously supporting this event and congratulations to Stan, Elizabeth and all the competitors for making the 2013 PING Seniors Open such a great contest.”
