Former Sex & The City star Sarah Jessica Parker wasn’t shy about sharing her feelings towards the prequel series, The Carrie Diaries … turns out she isn’t a fan.

Now that the show is well into its first season, original series actress Parker speaks about how watching the character she made into an icon during her younger years has now become ‘odd’.

In fact, in a recent interview, she shared some of her thoughts about what the show is doing to her legacy, as she responded when asked about it: “I’m not sure. You know, I think it’s one of those tests of your generosity. She (Anna Sophia Robb) is a lovely girl and I want her to feel good about it, but it’s…odd.”

The series focuses on Carrie Bradshaw in her younger days, who is played by 19-year-old Robb.

While Robb has kept mum on Parker’s comments about the CW show, she hasn’t been quiet about the show itself, dishing to fans on Twitter that shooting for The Carrie Diaries’ first season was complete.
“Last day on set! Our incredible wardrobe dpt dressed in full 80s!!! And did a flash mob in one of our scenes,” Robb tweeted. “That’s a wrap on season 1 of ‪#thecarriediaries.” ‬

In a previous interview with Teen Vogue, the actress shared some background on why she was so interested in the part. “I realised it was actually a really strong story,” Robb revealed. “It had a lot of heart and integrity, and Carrie seems like a character that I can grow with.”

The Carrie Diaries airs on Wednesdays at 10pm on OSN First and OSN First HD.
