Rounds 11 and 12 of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East take place at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) with three days of action starting from tomorrow.

The fourth season of the leading one-make series has been packed with sensational drama and action with Austrian Clemens Schmid leading the championship by 10 points from Saudi Arabia’s Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal.

The season is heading for a stunning finale on the concluding weekend of the season, with the title set to go right down to the wire.

Amongst the drivers competing are Team Bahrain’s Mohammed Mattar and Raed Raffii alongside young Kuwaiti sensation Zaid Ashkanani. Denmark’s Christina Nielsen, the first female driver to race in the history of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, made her debut at the Losail International Circuit in Rounds 9 and 10 earlier this month.

Round 8 was a memorable occasion for Mattar as he gained his first podium position, finishing in third place.

Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East manager, Walter Lechner, said: “We have had so much drama and an edge to the competition this season.”

Tomorrow is scheduled for testing at the BIC. Round 11 on Friday is set to start at 2.35pm, while Round 12 on Saturday is at 3pm.

The two-day event will also feature the seventh and penultimate round of the BIC 2,000cc Challenge. Tickets for the event are available at the gate costing BD2 for adults on each day and BD1 for youngsters.
