Bahrain’s biggest water theme park, Lost Paradise of Dilmun (LPOD) has opened its doors with a line-up of new games to entertain guests.

LPOD has added non-water based games including a bungee trampoline ride, Rodeo Bull challenge and a fun football interactive game.The water park also brings a new array of delicious food choices with grills, burgers, salads, mini-snack stations as well as Chinese fast food. Alwan 338, a community-driven cultural and artistic collaboration, will take place until April 26 at Adliya’s Block 338. This year’s theme is Common Ground. Alwan 338 encourages public participation and engagement with the unique architecture of Adliya through public art projects, installations, educational workshops, open-air music concerts and film screenings.

A tentative list of participating Bahraini artists include: Haya Al Khalifa, Wasan Madan, Noor Al-Bastaki, Jenine Sharabi, Waheedah Mallulah, Mohamed Sharkawy, Maysam Al Nasser, Tamader Ali Isa, Hassan Hujairi, and Jaffar Aloraibi.

In addition, 10 international artists will collaborate with local artists and communities to create site-specific pieces, as well as give workshops and public talks about their artistic practices.

Ismail Bahri, from Tunisia, will present his video work at Al Riwaq Art Space.

Sylvie Meunier, from France, will be working with an archive of photos to recreate news narratives and fiction in Adliya.

Noor Ali Chagani, from Pakistan, winner of this year’s Jameel Art Prize, will carry out several installations transforming the urban landscape.

Tendance Floue Collective, from France, will work alongside five local photographers to construct a photographic sculpture.

Alessandra Domingues, from Brazil, will create several in and outdoor light installations.

Osama Esid, from Syria, uses accordion cameras and ancient printing techniques to create art.

Ndary Ly, from Senegal, will intervene in the public space with his large-scale installation composed of everyday, common, discarded objects.

Scottish DJ, singer and songwriter Calvin Harris, right, is the latest act to join superstar Ne-Yo in entertaining Formula One fans at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.

The 29-year-old record producer, born Adam Richard Wiles, will take to the stage on April 21 after the race.

Harris has been rocking the airwaves with smash hits including Bounce, Feel So Close, Let’s Go, We’ll Be Coming Back, Sweet Nothing and Drinking from the Bottle.

His gold-selling debut album, I Created Disco, was released in 2007 and contained the top-10 singles Acceptable in the 80s and The Girls. His second studio album, Ready for the Weekend (2009), also reached Number One on the UK Album Chart and includes the hit single I’m Not Alone, the UK top-five hit Ready for the Weekend and the singles Flashback and You Used to Hold Me.

Calvin has also written and produced records for other artists including Kylie Minogue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Dizzee Rascal, Cheryl Cole, Example and Rihanna (on the international chart-topper We Found Love).

Three-day Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix ticket holders will be able to watch the show for free and have been urged to arrive before the start of the final race at 3pm.

From Cuba, the Ballet Revolución show has taken Europe by storm and now the international dance sensation makes its debut in Bahrain. It combines with a fusion of ballet, contemporary dance and hip-hop, against a blend of sounds meshed with Cuban classics, Latin American and R&B hits by artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Usher, Chris Brown and Beyoncé.

The show takes place on Friday and Saturday at Arad Fort at 8.30pm. Tickets cost BD10, BD15 and BD20.

Yanni is a Greek pianist, keyboardist, composer and music producer. He uses the musical shorthand that he developed, blending jazz, classical, soft rock and world music to create predominantly instrumental works. Yanni will perform on Tuesday at the Bahrain National Theatre.

Kadim Al Sahir has been dubbed the ‘Caesar of Arabic Song’ and ‘Iraq’s Ambassador to the world’. Throughout his 30-year career, he has sold over 100 million albums and performed live to millions across the globe. He will perform on April 6 at Arad Fort.

The Mahler Chamber Orchestra created its own ensemble pursuing a vision of an independent international orchestra.

This musical performance will take place today at 7.45pm at the Bahrain National Theatre. Tickets cost BD20, BD30 and BD40.

Rashmi dance troupe have reinvented Kathak, a traditional Indian dance through the portrayal of various traditional heroines, whose stories are told through dance.
