The two-round score of husband and wife Heinz and Tatyana Hurter was enough to clinch them the title of Coca-Cola Royal Golf Club Mixed Open Champions.
A terrific greensomes score of nett 69 on the final day, added to their impressive nett 72 on the first day, meant the duo ran out winners by 1.4 shots over another husband and wife pairing, David and Dena Wales, who finished in second place with a total of 142.4. Husband and wife Bijan Majidi and Pauline Jeakings had to settle for third place after missing out on countback.
The annual tournament was played in the greensomes format on the club’s Montgomerie championship course. Players from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and neighbouring Awali Golf Club also took part.
