THE 2013 Batelco Challenge, a major day’s horseracing, will be held on Friday at the Rashid Equestrian & Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
The featured races include Batelco Group Cup, Batelco Bahrain Cup, Batelco Al Masa Cup and Batelco Al Dana Cup. Batelco has allocated a total of BD5,000 for the winners of the races.
To help celebrate the special Batelco Challenge day, the telecom giant is giving race-goers the chance to win mobile phones in a free draw at the racetrack. Every person entering the event will be given a raffle ticket and five lucky people will win a mobile phone in a draw held during the afternoon.
“We are delighted to sponsor the Batelco Challenge and give race-goers this opportunity to enjoy an entertaining day at the races,” sad Ahmed Al Janahi, Batelco Group general manager media relations.
“A love of horses and a passion for racing are inextricably linked with the kingdom and these six races, together with the great prize fund, will fuel interest amongst jockeys, owners and spectators alike.”
Racing enthusiasts and families are welcome to come along to see the on-track action. Admission is free and racing starts at 2pm.
