One of Bahrain’s favourite dining destinations has opened a new branch in Adliya. Lanterns Restaurant, which was established 27 years ago, serves the finest fusion of Indian cuisine and ambience.
The outdoor Lanterns Lounge and Restaurant offers a warm and romantic atmosphere to enjoy nibbles and drinks.
“My vision was to create a place that had all the old elements of Lanterns that people have come to love, but at the same time give them something different that will appeal to everyone,” said Lanterns managing director Lalit Kapur.
Inside, the restaurant has a cosy lounge with a tavern, decorated with old paraphernalia, memorabilia and original newspaper cuttings on the walls.
Mr Kapur’s wife, Jayne, added the artistic finishing to bring out the exotic touch and authenticity of Lanterns.
The cuisine is quintessentially Indian, but the new menu has innovative fusion dishes like risotto balls, coriander calamari, rosemary naan, with healthy options like quinoa salad and burghul biryani. DJ Denzel provides the entertainment with a varied mix of music.
Every Friday and Saturday the restaurant is now introducing a buffet lunch, from noon to 3pm, for BD7.900++, to include an array of salads, four to five hot starters, two soups, 10 main courses, mixed grills on the table and a dessert trolley.
The main course will feature fish, prawn, chicken and vegetable dishes, while Thursday and Friday nights will serve a Maharajah feast, which will be laid out as a buffet, along with the a la carte menu, from 7pm.
Customers can also enjoy unlimited house drinks for BD20++, including a house meal of one dish of their choice from the menu, every Sunday and Monday.
Lanterns also offers drinks at reduced prices for happy hours from 3pm to 7pm.
