The pairing of Ian Gore and Tony Bridgens took first place in the second round of the VIVA Fourball League at the Royal Golf Club with ascore of 21 points.
It was a closely-fought contest with the countback system needed to separate the top three teams after the pairings of Khalid and Hussain Salem and Hamed Salem and Adel Ali also finished on 21 points.
A great shot from Eui Moo Koo on hole 12 was enough to win the nearest the pin competition.
“VIVA have put on a great event,” said John Wilson, the Royal Golf Club’s golf sales and events manager. “They have provided mobile phones as prizes for the nearest the pin winners and the two overall winners each month so it’s no wonder this league is attracting such great numbers of competitors.”
The Betterball Stableford competition is played on the club’s Montgomerie championship course on the last Tuesday of every month and the top six scores from a maximum of 10 will count towards the final overall scores.
