British driver and Bahrain resident Gavin Halls, pictured left, will drive in the Formula Middle East (FME) race for DHL Aviation, the world’s largest logistics network, in a branded Mygale FB02 single-seater race car.
He said: “It’s always been an ambition to race during an F1 weekend in front of the big crowds, and with the atmosphere and excitement that is associated with it. I’m looking forward to the challenging weekend that lies ahead – there is some fantastic talent from around the world including some great local drivers. I’m happy to be representing DHL Aviation Bahrain and hope I can justify their support by returning a podium finish.”
Halls, 35, from Saar, has competed in various championships since the age of eight in the UK and Europe. He has won multiple championships in both karting and circuit racing during his career.
He moved to Bahrain in 2007 and has been a senior instructor at the Bahrain International Circuit since 2008.
