TOP tips on how to stay fresh and fabulous this summer with luscious locks, neat nails and revitalised skin are being offered at Reflections.

The hair and beauty salon, located in Najibi Centre, Saar’s community mall, offers a variety of treatments at competitive prices to combat listlessness and bring new life to hair, nails and skin.

A Reflections hair and beauty expert, said: “If you are bored with your last hair colouring, changing your hair colour to match the new season could be just the thing to turn your mood around. Nothing freshens up a drab hair-do quite like a new colour.

“Finding the perfect colour isn’t a science, it’s actually quite simple. Whether you are a brunette or a blonde, there are ways to add warmth and glow to your hair.

“All you have to do is stick to colours that compliment your skin tone and figure out if you’re better off with single-process colour or highlights. If you have a great base hair tone, you are better off with highlights.

“You don’t want to mess with nature, what you want to do is enhance it. If your base colour washes out your skin tone, consider single-process colour, as it is also cheaper than highlights.”

The four basic types of highlights that can be used to brighten up a look include basic foil highlights, baliage or hair painting, chunking or piecing and low-lighting.

Stylists add strands of colour to hair with foil highlights. For a more natural look, customers get up to five different shades in their hair.

Baliage, or hair painting, allows stylists to add natural stripes of colour to hair in large or small swathes. This is best for women with a great base colour who want to go just a couple of shades lighter.

Low-lighting allows stylists to add darker shades to hair, giving the colour more contrast.

After colour has been applied, ask for a gloss treatment to make the hair look shiny and healthy.

Compliment the new look with pretty nails. The salon’s nails services are also popular in the community, offering spa manicures and pedicures, paraffin wax and nail extensions.

The venue is open daily from 9am to 9pm. For more information, contact 17695594.
