Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, the spin-off of Once Upon a Time, has cast another key character to its series, Pee Wee Herman.

Coming from Once creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the new project is set in pre-curse Wonderland and is told through the point of view of Alice. Kitsis once said about the potential new 22-episode series that the idea is not a spin-off in the traditional sense much more in the vein of an American Horror Story, with a beginning, middle, and end.

Pee Wee Herman star, Paul Reubens, will be the voice of Alice’s furry friend The White Rabbit.

Meanwhile, Road Kill actress, Sophie Lowe, will play the part of Alice and British actress Emma Rigby from Hollyoaks will take on the role of Red Queen. Joining them are Peter Gadiot as Alice’s love interest Cyrus and Michael Socha as the Knave of Hearts.

Since the spin-off will feature flashbacks, Cora a.k.a. the Queen of Hearts, who is portrayed by Barbara Hershey on Once will likely make an appearance as well. The characters of Mad Hatter and CheshireCat are expected to be part of the show. However it was reported that Sebastian Stan, who played Mad Hatter on the original series, won’t return to the spin-off.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is scheduled to begin filming in Vancoucer, Canada, later this month after season 2 of the mother show wraps up production.

Once Upon A Time airs every Monday at 9pm on OSN First HD and 11pm on OSN First+2 as well as on Tuesday at 9am on OSN First HD and 11am on OSN First+2.
