The Whisperer

An expat trying to lose a few pounds before baring the body beautiful on the beach during his coming summer hols signed up for sessions at the Dream Body Centre. He parked in Bahrain Mall, grabbed his bag and made it to the top of the stairs through the special members’ entrance only to remember that his bath towel was still in a bag in the car.

He rushed back to the vehicle, grabbed the towel and set off on his 23-minute fitness session, showered, returned to the car feeling invigorated until, aghast, he realised he’d left the boot of his car wide open.

His beloved golf clubs and camera were in full view of parked taxi drivers, Geant shoppers and strolling youths and his belongings remained untouched.

My sweaty friend tells me this is one of the reasons he loves living and working in Bahrain so much. It should market itself as the ‘island of honesty’.

He added that back home in England the camera and golf clubs would probably have been stolen from a LOCKED boot. If he’d left the vehicle open … the car itself would have gone missing!
