THIS week I was off full speed in the fashion chariot with a little help from GulfWeekly’s sales coordinator Bambi Manalese and former YouthTalk columnist Megan Cox, in order to scour for the best deals for readers.
With the AC broken in the car and the endless traffic queues, we were almost as hot as the deals we found. We quickly recovered from our moaning and wiped the sweat off our brows as we headed into H&M. Who doesn’t perk up in a mall?
In the children’s wear section we bumped into a thoughtful couple eyeing up a summer set for a two-year-old. Wow! BD1 and BD2 for racks of children’s wear. Sleeveless tanks and jean shorts for boys and frilly little ‘this and that’ for girls, absolutely adorable.
Not only are the prices slashed throughout the whole store but H&M are running a buy-two-and-get-one-free promotion, ending July 20. There is also up to 70 per cent off on ladies, men and children’s-wear, ending July 17 in both Seef Mall and Bahrain City Centre.
Nine West needed to be covered because the quality is amazing and they are very well known for quickly bringing runway trends down to the masses.
The store was packed with sales on handbags, wallets and shoes with bright funky colours that would give power to any summer wardrobe. 50 per cent off until July 9 with treasures so fresh, you would probably buy them at full price!
Bambi found a pair of shoes she had bought earlier in the year and described them as ‘uber comfy and durable’. They were down to BD16.900 from BD 35.900. Great deal!
Megan grabbed a strappy rose coloured pump down to BD12.7 from BD35.9. I did the smell test: ‘Yup, leather’. She could wear those with any of the pool-party dresses in her closet. I think she went back to buy them over the weekend. She looked amazing.
We wanted to join the forefront of fashion and headed into Steve Madden to take advantage of the Ramadan Bonanza – spend BD25 and get BD5 voucher. With this designer backing up your wardrobe you will be spot-on with a rock ’n’ roll urban edge thanks to studded or spiked purses and footwear with cool colours and textures.
Holding the same promotion right next door is Dumond. I loved the Brazilian flare. With these fierce tribal cuts of leather and colour I felt like I wanted to let out a roar. But I didn’t … for everyone-else’s sake.
