The Ministry of Culture’s 2013 Bahrain Summer Festival will run a line-up of entertainment at different venues in Bahrain until September 9.

There will be performances by Mohammed Assaf and Fareeda Mohammed Ali as well as family-friendly shows featuring Barney the Dinosaur, Scooby Doo and more.

Mohammed Assaf’s show is scheduled for September 1 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Conference Centre. Fareeda Mohammed Ali will sing on September 5 at the Cultural Hall.

The festival’s mascot Nakhool will be joined by the newest member of the Bahrain Summer Festival family, Nakhoola, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Songs and tales of the sea - Storyteller Denes reads folk stories and tales from the past accompanied by music from Kamal Khalil. It’s open for ages four and above.

Space and Science - Visitors aged five and above will learn about science through fun activities and experiments.

Today until August 30 at 10am and 2pm
Sgrafitto - Teaches visitors aged 10 and above the techniques of painting on sand fabric. Registration is required.

Until September 6
Fibre and Felt designs - a workshop introduction. Learn how to create a fibre masterpiece with just wool, soap and water using a traditional wet felting method. Open to participants aged nine and above. Registration is required.
