A roadshow around Bahrain is being staged to introduce motorists to Sadeem, Bapco’s personalised smart card which allows drivers to pay for fuel efficiently, effectively and without the hassles of handling cash.

Launched by Bapco in 2012, more than 33,000 Sadeem cards have been issued so far and are accepted at 16 service stations today.

After the roadshow left Seef on Sunday, the next stop will be Tubli on November 18-23, Muharraq on November 25-30, Al Fateh on December 2-7, Isa Town on December 9-14, Buhair on December 16-21, Hamad Town 2 on December 23-28 and Hoora during the first week on January.

Eventually, Bapco’s Sadeem service expects to energise all fuel stations in Bahrain by mid-2014.

Sadeem is available in two formats – pre-paid and credit-based. The pre-paid option is available to individuals or organisations, and can be applied for instantly. What’s more, it is reusable and can be topped-up with the desired amount prior to using.

The credit-based Sadeem card caters best to organisations and businesses. Once the credit facility is approved, cards can be issued and used like a regular credit card subject to set limits.
