THE powerhouses of endurance racing will be descending on Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in an attempt to make history at the World Endurance Championship (WEC) Six Hours of Bahrain.

A total of seven championship titles will be decided during the event which starts tomorrow and runs through to Saturday.

Titles that will be decided at the Six Hours of Bahrain will be the World Endurance Cup for GT Drivers, the World Endurance Cup for GT Manufacturers, the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMP2 Drivers, the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMP2 Teams, the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGTE Pro Teams, the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGTE Am Drivers and the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGTE AM Teams.

The weekend will also give spectators the chance to see newly-crowned FIA World Endurance champions Loic Duvall, Alan McNish and Tom Kristensen of Team Audi in action, while the roster of competitors also features multiple champions and revered motoring aces across the championship’s four divisions – LMP1, LMP2, LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am.

Support races include the opening round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, India’s MRF Challenge, which is making its international debut, and BIC’s very own championship – the BIC 2,000cc Challenge.

Away from the track, meanwhile, a jam-packed schedule of activities and events aims to keep the entire family entertained. Fans can look forward to live performances by Indian pop star Sonu Nigam and popular French DJ John Revox, while local acts such as the Awesome People, Alderon, the Legendz and the Gumz Filipino band will also take to stage. The car draw will take place during the Six Hours of Bahrain race itself, adding to the day’s excitement.

Tickets to the Six Hours of Bahrain cost BD20 per person for both days of action. They cost BD10 for children aged three to 12, while children aged up to three will enter for free. Tickets to BIC’s exclusive Le Mans Spirit Club cost BD200 each and they offer a premium viewing experience, coupled with the club’s world class hospitality.
