THE pairing of Nasser Yaqoob and Jane Guinane claimed the 11th Annual National Day Tournament played at the Royal Golf Club’s Montgomerie championship course.

Their team score of 88 points was one better than the duo of Faris Al Merisi and Pauline Jeakings, who finished second, while Mohammed Salmeen and Wanda Connor finished third with a total of 84 points in the 36-hole tournament held over two days.

Expatriate players were paired with a Bahraini in a betterball Stableford format, with the top 30 teams from day one battling it out in the final round to decide the overall winning duo.

The team of Robert Addison, Karin Lutz, Ahmed Sultan and Sattam Al Gosaibi won a consolation scramble competition, which was held on day two for those who couldn’t make the top 30, with a net score of 61.1.

 A Junior National Day competition also held on the club’s Wee Monty par three course. The pair of Khalifa Abdulla Al Habbal and Ali Babtain clinched first place with a score of 20 points.
