Class 5C members recently received a very important letter from Kensington Palace, London. It was to thank them for a poem that they sent to celebrate the Christening of Prince George, son of their Royal Highness’s, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The children were very excited, with each of them taking a copy of the letter home with them, and the original will be framed and put in school for all to see.

Although just a coincidence that the letter arrived during GREAT British Week, wonderfully timed nonetheless!

The class had researched the British Royal Family and watched news coverage. The children, in groups, then had to take different initials of Prince George’s name and use the poetic techniques they had learned in order to create an acrostic poem.

Attention drivers in Bahrain! I am going to share with you some information that I know for a fact you don’t know … that little red triangle in your centre stack, is not a ‘parking’ light!

Contrary to what you may believe, pushing this button does not give you magic powers, allowing you to stop your car in the middle of the road without causing a problem for other drivers.

Ironically, that button is called a hazard light. Its sole purpose is to alert other drivers of a hazard on the road. For example, someone has left their car unattended in the middle of the road and it is now causing a hazard for other drivers trying to get past the aforementioned car!

Park in a designated place, who knows, the 30-second walk to the store might help you burn off some of the calories from that Snickers you were so desperate for.

Grumpy motorist,
By email.
