Gulf Weekly Nadeen School

Nadeen School has undergone a rigorous inspection this week and is proud to announce that it has been awarded ‘Accredited Member Status’ of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME) and is now a registered British School Overseas (BSO) certified and recognized by the British Department for Education (DfE.)

Nadeen School, along with St Christopher’s, is one of only two schools in Bahrain with recognised BSME and BSO status, although Nadeen School has been a BSME member since the group’s early inception in the early 1980s.
The BSME has moved in recent years from being a networking group to being a more professionally-driven body which has a clearly defined and externally validated level of quality for membership.
As such, in order to retain full BSME membership, all BSME schools are required to be accredited which requires us to pass a rigorous inspection and adhere to strict educational and professional criteria and standards – similar to a UK OFSTED inspection or the Bahrain QAAET inspection.
Nadeen School has passed the BSME accreditation process, and was consistently above, and in many areas well above, the standard required to be an accredited BSME school.
Being an accredited member of the BSME and retaining our long-standing BSME membership will benefit the Nadeen School community in many ways – it will ensure that the school maintains a high level of education and standards, that our policies and procedure are consistent, fair and of high standard, that Nadeen School retains its excellent reputation, that staff coming in to the school know they are joining a quality educational establishment, it will enable our staff to participate in BSME-hosted continuing professional development, our pupils to participate in BSME-hosted activities and it will ensure that the children moving on from Nadeen to other schools are recognised as coming from a respected school.
In addition, once a school has achieved BSME Accredited Member status, it is eligible to undergo a BSO inspection.
Being a BSO school will enable us to award Qualified Teacher Status(QTS) to Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT) and will also ensure that we are a recognised British Curriculum school validated by the DfE. Nadeen School was consistently above, and in many areas well above, the standard required to be an accredited BSME school.
