With reference to your report last week regarding Kempinski Hotels and Majid Al Futtaim reaching an amicable, mutual agreement to end the hotel management agreement on June 30 for the Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre, we would like to clarify that Majid Al Futtaim uses a similar two-hotel model at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates.
The award-winning Kempinski-operated five-star hotel opened shortly after the mall opened in April 2006; and the mall’s four-star hotel was originally a Pullman Hotel, and was rebranded as a Sheraton in January 2013.
