Companies from across the Northern Gulf gathered at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre to showcase their market-leading products and services at the eighth gulfBID 2014, writes Mai Al Khatib-Camille.
The three-day exhibition, organised by Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, featuring the third GulfInteriors Exhibition and the second Gulf Property Show.
More than 7,000 visitors attended the exhibition, which covered 5,500sq/m of floor space. The three shows, known as the ‘3Gs’, provided a special one-stop-shop for visitors across the construction, interiors and real estate sectors.
Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director of gulfBID organisers HCE, said: “We provided both exhibitors and visitors with the ultimate platform for product launches and deals as we showcased the diverse expertise in the construction, contracting and building materials sectors.”
Among the participants at the show were Y K Almoayyed & Sons, which demonstrated its comprehensive range of heavy duty, construction equipment and contractors’ plant and machinery from renowned global manufacturers.
Haji Hassan Group also showcased the combined strengths of its subsidiaries including Arabian Chemical Industries, a specialist supplier of international-standard construction chemicals to Bahrain’s building and civil engineering industries for almost 30 years, Bahrain Precast Concrete Company, Haji Hassan Readymix, Haji Hassan Reinforcements and Bahrain Block.
The Real Estate division of the diversified Bokhowa Group unveiled its 7,000sq/m Saar Mall project, which features a Géant easy, international fast food chains, children’s play area, birthday and recreation halls and other amenities including a soon-to-open cinema.
The group also displayed products from reputed international suppliers such as Baugerate GmbH, Dynamic, Shimge Pumps, CO.ME, Deron, Lujiang, Décor Tools, Allfa Dubel Germany, FT Spa, Brownie’s, Shenzhen Rise Optoelectronics Co. Ltd, World Wide Swimming Pool Products, Interhasa Hand Dryer, Mujia Sanitary Ware Factory and Injection Tech.
Marble and natural stones specialist, Marble Touch Trading and Contracting, on the other hand, demonstrated its services, including its internal and external design, as well as professional power tools as the exclusive agent in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq for Chinese company KEN.
Mr Abdulrahman said the Gulf Property Show proved such a success that it will be expanded next year. Re-bookings from delighted exhibitors have already started for the 2015 edition.
