The Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir, is launching its first Open Track Night on  Friday.

Enthusiasts are invited to bring a car or motorbike and race under the BIC’s world-famous, state-of-the-art track lighting system, which made its global debut to much fanfare at this year’s Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

A full night’s activity, which includes eight sessions on track, costs BD105 and lasts from 4pm to midnight.

The half-day option offers a choice between two timings – the first from 4pm to 7pm and 8pm to 11pm. Each half-day session costs BD75.

Single sessions can also be bought for BD40, while those wishing to be a part of the experience as passengers can enjoy the experience for BD12-BD15.

Discounts are being offered for those with advanced bookings. Participants who confirm their slots early can take a full day’s session for BD90 and a half-day’s drive for BD65.

Also on offer is the Caterham Xtreme. Guests can get into the passenger seat of an ultra-light and ultra-quick Caterham car and speed around the track next to a BIC driving instructor. The Caterham experience costs BD15 per person for a single session.

Hussam Aseem, known to his Hip Hop followers as ‘Flipperachi’, will be the first Bahraini rapper to release a studio album to be sold in stores across the island.

The father and human resource co-ordinator, from Hamad Town, initially launched his album Straight Out of 2Seas in digital music stores including iTunes and Amazon last year and has received critical acclaim.

Flipperachi said: “The feedback was astonishing. This is the most exciting moment of my life because I get to present my hard work and dedication to the people in physical form. This to me is an achievement and something I’m proud of.”

The compilation is produced by DJ Outlaw, the founder of the locally-based independent record label Outlaw Productions, and the album is sponsored by Winners Football Centre.

The VIP release party will be staged at the soccer venue in Isa Town, which recently signed a partnership with Outlaw Productions. The songs in his album touch on a variety of topics.
 
Co-producers also appear on the album such as DJ Shred from Kuwait and American comedian and actor Orlando Jones. It also features a number of regional and international artists.

The album is available exclusively at Winners Football Centre tomorrow and is set for release in Virgin Megastores and Euphoria by the end of the month.

The Amwaj Marina Obstacle Challenge charity event will be held on May 30 at Amwaj Marina.
Participants will carry a 20kg weight over 70m in a 1m depth in the sea, crawl through mud, climb up and down inclined walls 5m’s high and through uneven terrain making up the 4km grueling obstacle course.
