Al Maha Riding Centre hosted its end-of-season show jumping event at the weekend. It was programmed as a ‘fun and colourful’ event, which it proved to be.

Prizes were donated by Huda Janahi of Horsepride and City Garden of Bahrain Mall provided flowers as well as prizes, Yousif Ali, the proprietor of Al Maha, and Dawood Salman provided the trophies and medals.

Competitors were awarded prize money and vouchers for 1st to 3rd placings and trophies/medals/rosettes from 4th to 6th placings.

There were three classes. The first, for juniors only, consisted of one round, with a timed jump-off. Ahmed Isa won in his own inimitable style, taking the talented Tutu round the course like a true professional.

The lovely Chantal Gromm who, with Dancer, simply waltzed around the course followed him into runner-up position. Taking third position was Abdulla Ali astride his fabulous horse Wajbah.

The second class of the day was a mixed class. This time speed was of the essence, as the fastest clear would win, and claiming his second victory of the day was the nifty and agile Tutu, steered by his clever rider Ahmed Isa.

Runner-up in this class, keeping the top prizes in the stables, was Muslim Ali riding Bart and in third position was Khalid Janahi with My Baby.

The final evening class was an accumulator with Joker, a mixed class. Winning in spectacular style was Abbas Yousif who astride the stunning Argentine, beat off stiff competition. Runner up was Abbas AlGhuraifi who popped Champagne neatly round the course. Third in this final class was Alyas Mohd riding Gayth.

This was a fabulous event to round off the season for Al Maha Riding Centre. The organisers wantto extend their sincere thanks to all who made the day possible including the sponsors, Anki Holmstrom of Twin Palms Riding Centre and Salman Faraj and Yvonne Addison.
