Gulf Weekly Sandstrom and Rotairo duo triumph

Anders Sandstrom and Ramil Rotairo clinched the third African & Eastern Monday Madness Night Golf Series competition at the Royal Golf Club (RGC) with a return of 29.375 nett.
 
Second place went to the duo of Chris Meyer and Paul Van Roghen who shot nett 32.25. Husband and wife Rob and Debbie Lane claimed third place in the pairs scramble with nett 32.75 on countback.

Sandstrom won a second prize for coming nearest to the pin on the 12th hole and Rob Lane was closest on the 16th.

The win puts Sandstrom and Rotairo at the top of the order of merit alongside three other pairings, all of whom have five points apiece.

A prize presentation ceremony was held in the Members’ Lounge.

Meakin wins on countback
Tony Meakin clinched first place in the annual Royalists Club Championship at the Royal Golf Club with a nett score of 72.
 
Rob Lane, who also achieved a score of 72 nett, was the runner-up after the countback system was used to separate the two. Peter Thompson came third with nett 73 on countback and Marius Esterhuizen was a close fourth, also on nett 73.

Sam Hobday won a prize for achieving the best gross score on the day with a gross 74.

The event, sponsored by Mercedes, was played on the club’s Montgomerie championship course.
