Doe a Deer, a unique mum and baby shop, opened recently inside the Al Dhila Complex, Hamala, selling maternity wear and clothing for new-born children and those up to five years.
I felt like I was walking into a nursery and not a children’s store. The décor was everything you would expect to see in a baby’s room with muted palettes, soft décor and white-moulded shelving. Perfectly arranged in the store you will find all sorts of baby clothing, layettes, gift sets, nursery items, toys, books, onesies, sleepers, blankets and even fashionable nappy-holders.
Sara Khalid Al Awadhi, managing director of the company, said: “When I was pregnant I couldn’t find anything in Bahrain for my ‘daughter-to-be’ so I researched and I found a lot of stuff I wanted to bring back to offer the people of Bahrain.”
Sara was involved in fashion studies and in the future may design her own maternity line to sell in the store. The outlet carries maternity wear, infant clothing and children’s-wear up to five years with competitive pricing.
