The Whisperer

A friend of the Whisperer got into a hairy situation over Eid when he decided to go to the cinema to catch one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters, Dawn of the Planet of The Apes.

After deciding to catch the 9pm showing, he left his flat in Adliya at 7.20, which is usually plenty of time to make it to Seef. However, he ended up stuck in traffic for two hours and spent a further 30 minutes trying to find parking in the mall.

When he finally made it to the cinema, hundreds of others obviously had the same idea and a huge line had formed at the ticket office. A further 40 minutes later, the exhausted man finally got to the front of the line only to be told all showings of the film had been sold out for the night.

Disheartened, dejected and deeply annoyed he got in his car and began to drive home. Sadly, his misery didn’t end there. The road home was bumper-to-bumper traffic for another two hours.

Ironically, even though he didn’t manage to see the movie, he still managed to go ape!
