Head down to the Royal Golf Club for its Links Friday Carvery Brunch which includes a range of starters, live cooking stations, traditional carved meats, desserts and more. Indian artist Ella Prakash will showcase her solo exhibition ‘Passion of Cubism’ from today to Sunday at the Ella Art Gallery Bahrain, in Adliya.
The event opens at 11am and there will be an opportunity to meet the artist.
‘The Best Summer Camp in the World’ runs until August 31 at Adhari Park. It will offer children a chance to interact socially and take part in a variety of community projects. Entertainment includes video games, computers, arts and crafts, drama, music and sports.
The camp costs BD85 a month, including breakfast, and runs from Sundays to Thursdays from 8am to 2pm.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa is hosting its Ritz Kids Summer Camp programme until August 28. Running from Sunday to Thursday from 10am - 4pm, it is open to children aged four to 12. Activities include football, squash, and tennis, swimming with a dedicated instructor, arts & crafts, dancing, fishing and much more.
City Centre Bahrain is staging its 3rd Annual Summer Camp featuring a variety of activities including sports tournament, leisure and entertainment, educational tours, mind games, fitness sessions and daily lunches. The camps are for children aged seven to 12 and are open from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
The first camp starts on Sunday to August 14, the second is on August 17 to 21 and the last camp is on August 24 to 28. It’s BD25 to register and all fees will be donated to the Child’s Wish Society.

Footballing legends Graeme Souness and Gordon Banks will be coming to Bahrain on September 25 at Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence & Spa. Souness is considered to be one of Scotland’s icons, playing with Liverpool, Rangers, Middlesbrough and Sampdoria, winning three European Cups, nine league titles and a plethora of British domestic trophies. Banks was an instrumental part of the England 1966 World Cup Winning side.
He capped 73 times for England winning the FIFA World Player of the Year once and FIFA World Goal Keeper of the Year on six occasions. The duo will share their stories at 8pm.
* British boxing legend, former WBA, IBF, IBO Light Welterweight and WBA Welterweight Champion, Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, was meant to appear but had to reschedule due to coaching commitments. However, he is now set to come Bahrain in February 2015. Ricky will be giving a talk about his career and the world of sport. There will also be live entertainment, dinner, a prize raffle giveaway and more.
The Ministry of Culture is launching its 2014 Bahrain Summer Festival, entitled Summer of Colours until August 30. All events will be staged at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC); some are free entry while others require tickets.
Children will have a line-up of fun starting with Dora the Explorer and her friends in Dora’s Pirate Adventure from tomorrow to Sunday.
On August 13 and 14, internationally-acclaimed award-winning crossover Iraqi artist Ilham Al-Madfai will perform at the Cultural Hall with his eclectic band, playing his signature blend of Western rhythms and Eastern folk songs.
An international street dance, known as Blaze, above, will entertain on August 16 and 17 featuring 16 of the best street dancers from around the world. They will perform pop and lock routines as well as break-dance to music from the likes of Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, David Guetta, Snoop Dogg and others.
Another children’s favourite will be the all-new UAE-produced show Abood’s Dream from August 21 to 24. Abood is joined by the beloved grandmothers of the animated show FREEJ. Also, a full slate of activities will be on offer at Nakhool and Nakhoola City for the duration of the festival. It will include a wide variety of workshops and lectures with artists from across the globe focusing on entertainment, learning, and development.
The concert on August 26 features Chico & the Gypsies, the latest project of Jahloul ‘Chico’ Bouchiki, co-founder of the legendary band The Gipsy Kings.
The band carries on its predecessor’s flamboyant Spanish flamenco and rumba-infused traditions.
