I found myself confused while shopping this week, unsure whether to check out the new Fall collections already in store or scour for summer savings? I decided on a little of both to help GulfWeekly readers put a foot-in for fall while still reaching for dynamic deals.
Summer Savings: Forever 21 is having its ‘last chance summer sale’ and is clearing its stock. I also found evidence of autumn apparel peeking through the piles, which seemed promising.
Fall Finds: Textured sweaters in dusty rose and white for BD8.900 that can be paired with smart navy-coloured trousers and floral wedges all for under BD20. For BD3.500 you can find grey, black and cream lace camis to tuck underneath the sweater for a sweet look.
Summer Savings: I ducked into the Splash store in Seef Mall and found smashing summer deals. There are racks of graphic tees and leggings for only BD1.500, floral blouses in various styles (three for BD12). For BD2 there are spaghetti-strap dresses or tanks in hot pink, canopy green, acid yellow and other fantastic colours.
Fall Finds: BD2 for tanks in trendy fall colours like grey, blue and orange. Denim deals with two for BD10 in dark or light denim and in slim or comfort fit (various sizes). Just next to these piles are skinny belts in bright colours to cinch up the waist. Need any cotton leggings? BD3 for BD5.500 in fall shades of green, black, white and brown.
You will not be shy of choice for T-shirt colours for either season because on display is a whole wall of colours for BD3. When you spend BD20 you will get the chance to win a Mediterranean cruise. Details in-store.
Summer Savings: Over in the men’s section at BHS I spotted a 25 per cent off rack in men’s apparel. They have cotton shorts and distressed jeans included in the sale, as well as faded graphic beach tees for only BD7.800. Pair with a modern faded plaid and matching coloured loafers on sale and you will have a relaxed vacation swagger.
Fall Finds: They have an interesting ‘new season’ dress section for BD45. They are carrying gorgeous dresses with matching cardigans that are displayed close for your convenience. I found elegant pieces in cream, dusty rose, black, navy, mint, fuchsia and teal made with chiffon and other silky fabrics adorned with ribbons and roses. There are clutches in the section to complete your ensemble. It is a great one-stop shop for any formal event or wedding.
Summer Savings: The Pull and Bear location in Seef had no summer items left but City Centre Bahrain still does.
Fall Finds: Pull and Bear focuses on its ‘blue’ campaign, which is all about a new vision of denim for both men and women. I found it reflected the current trend of ‘normcore’ (the wearer opts for clothing meant to be average).
For ladies, the idea is to pair boyfriend or wide-legged ripped denim with striped jerseys (BD6.900), cropped print shirts in black and white or silver (BD8.900), glossy silver quilted sweatshirts (18.900) and even a lace kimono over a short crop for BD18.900.
They have sport socks for 900fils that can be paired with block or quilted plimsolls for a complete relaxed but modern look. The men’s ‘blue’ look is an acid wash denim jacket (BD17.900), black and white print tees (BD6.900) paired with relaxed or skinny blue jeans (BD12.900). Complete the outfit with white plimsolls and a logo hat for a simple trendy appeal.
Summer Savings: Hobbs is holding 70 per cent off on all summer items.
Fall Finds: The first thing I noticed was a bright red teddy coat that can easily be worn with any of the pieces in the new collection. The dominating colours throughout the store seem to be navy, red, grey and white with a relaxed tailored combination. There are also delicate feminine elements like lace, polka dots and flowers. Softer hues include, dusty rose, various shades of grey, baby blues and mint green. Transition summer item: rose bud pink jacket 70 per cent off at BD38.
