The team of club captain Stephen Wagstaff, Jeremy Dixon, Darren Adow and Phil Knecht won the Greenkeeper’s Revenge at the Royal Golf Club with a nett score of 59.5, a couple of strokes ahead of their rivals.
Playing in a four-player Texas Scramble around the course with a few alterations from director of agronomy, Jordon Fairweather, all participants were tested with quick greens, tractors on the course set as hazards and blowers near the greens to make sure there were no easy putts.
Taking the runners-up spot were the team of Rajinder Sachdeva, Sam Jong Kim, Ali Al Hakam and Ahmed Mohamed with a nett score of 62.4. In third place, by just a difference of one-tenth of a stroke, was the professionals Gavin Campbell, David Edwards, Ali Jassim and Stephen Hoey with a nett score of 62.5.
More than 100 players participated in the event in which Bijan Majidi won the nearest to the pin on hole number two. Along with the other lucky draw prizes all were handpicked by Jordon, mostly garden-related.
All participants were given complimentary drinks after the challenging course set up which were sponsored by Delmon Co. Ltd. (Supplier of Silica Sands) and Fine Treat Trading WLL (Water Resource Chemicals).
