Gulf Weekly Rob and Debbie’s win puts them in second overall

Rob and Debbie Lane won first place in the third match of the BMMI Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club with a nett score of 31.20, putting them in second place in the overall order of merit.

Ashley Price and Chris Butler were runners-up in week three of the popular six-week series with a score of 34.30 and Nils Berge and Petter Nyberg came third on 36.50. Nyberg also won a prize for coming closest to the pin on the 12th hole and Rob Lane was closest on hole 16.

Steve Middleton and playing partner Price are narrowly holding on to the top spot in the overall Order of Merit with nine points, one point ahead of the Lane duo, and with three more competitions to go, there’s still everything to play for.

More than 35 golfers took part in this week’s competition which was played in the St Andrew’s Foursomes format. A prize presentation ceremony was then held in the Members’ Lounge.

The BMMI Monday Madness Night Golf Series takes place at the Royal Golf Club every Monday evening. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register, email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com.
